The Digital Job Site: Connecting Drone Data to AI Workflows
The Disconnect Between Field and Office
For decades, the construction industry has suffered from a critical data gap. Field teams—surveyors, foremen, and operators—gather immense amounts of data daily. They know exactly how much dirt has been moved, which piles are lagging, and where the bottlenecks are.
Meanwhile, the office team—project managers, estimators, and accountants—operate on a delay. They might get a daily report, or worse, a weekly summary. This latency kills efficiency.
Enter The Automated Pipeline
At Hutton Tech, we are pioneering a workflow that closes this loop instantly. It starts with Hutton Aerographics.
- Step 1: Capture. A DJI Enterprise drone flies an autonomous route, capturing Lidar and Photogrammetry data.
- Step 2: Process. That data is processed locally (on our GPU clusters) to generate a Digital Surface Model (DSM).
- Step 3: Analyze. This is where HuttonAI takes over. Our custom vision models analyze the DSM to calculate cut/fill volumes automatically.
The AI Advantage
Traditional workflows end with a PDF report. Ours ends with an API call. The volume data is pushed directly into your ERP or Project Management software. An AI agent can then draft a progress billing invoice based on the exact percentage of earth moved, ready for your approval.
This isn't science fiction. It's the standard operating procedure for the next generation of general contractors.
